The four best places to hang out in Shoreditch

Shoreditch is one of London’s gems. Sure, it’s not as grand as Westminster or as scenic as Hampstead but it holds its own when it comes to its vibe. Londoners love the vibe of Shoreditch, from street food markets, to the amazing nightlife to the art galleries and creativity. It’s a pleasure to manage the amazing Mindspace Shoreditch building and our members here really do define why Shoreditch is so special.

Here are a few of my favourite local places:

The Owl & Pussycat pub

When I say every time I’ve been to this pub it’s been a vibe, I tell you this with the memories of many amazing nights (and days) inside this pub and its lively garden. Londoners love a pint or two after work, and this pub really shows you how to do it well, with a great crowd and brilliant atmosphere. The Owl & Pussycat is welcoming and makes you feel like you could talk to anyone and have a sensational night.

Boxpark Shoreditch

Shoreditch is the king of regeneration. From the early 2000’s the area slowly became a staple of London, mixing the East End of London with the City which is only a 10 minute walk away. Boxpark opened its doors in 2011 and is now one of the most recognisable and popular places to go. With over 30 different food & drink vendors and lots of seating areas it’s the perfect place to grab a bite and have a drink with your friends. It’s right next to Shoreditch High Street station as well, and it’s just too good to miss.

Padella Shoreditch

Who doesn’t love Italian when it’s done well, but now imagine how good it is when it’s done AMAZINGLY. Padella brings you a simple yet perfectly balanced menu with great pasta and wine to make you feel like the South of Italy is in Shoreditch. They manage to create a great atmosphere and it’s reasonably priced. If you’re visiting then a stop here is well worth it.

Ozone Coffee Roasters

It’s a rare thing to find a coffee house that has great food and also turns into a bar at night. It sounds like it shouldn’t work, right? But boy does it smash it out of the park here. You’ll regularly see queues forming in the morning as Londoners wait for their coffee fix and then throughout the day – the dynamic is just brilliant. The interior is minimal yet it feels cosy in a way Shoreditch does so well. So if you want a great coffee, brunch or even evening drinks pop down to Ozone for sure.
