5 Best Lunch Spots Around Market Street, San Francisco

Located right between FiDi and SOMA, Mindspace Market Street in San Francisco has some great restaurants within walking distance. 1. Hawker Ally

Hawker Ally’s food is reminiscent of an Asian street market, along with the quality ingredients found in California. From delicious bowls to bao bun snacks, all of their dishes are carefully crafted and have a uniqueness that is hard to come by in FiDi. Try one of the Gai bowls and – although it might not sound right – make sure to pour the broth into your rice!

2. The Bird

If you’re looking for a spicy treat, you can’t go wrong with The Bird. They specialize in fried chicken sandwiches that are one of the best, if not the best, in the Bay Area. There can be a long line during lunch, so get there early. You can also pick up a breakfast chicken biscuit sandwich or some apple fritters when passing by in the morning.

3. Panzon

Panzon is a Mindspace staff favorite for many reasons, one being  that it’s probably the closest restaurant to our building, just out the back door. Their authentic Mexican dishes are affordable and rival some of the best spots in the Mission district. With daily specials and an expansive choice, you can never get tired of their menu.

4. Mendocino Farms

Mendocino is a classic place that everyone in the area knows, and for a good reason. Whatever diet you are trying to stick to for the day, it really has something for everyone. With salads, bowls, sandwiches, and so many amazing sides, you really enjoy it every time. Ordering online is always the best way to go, as the line can get crazy.

5. Barcha 

When you want to sit down and treat yourself to a nice meal, Barcha is tough to beat. The outdoor patio is amazing on a sunny day. This is a great place for a team outing as there are so many interesting dishes to choose from that are very easy to share. The Mediterranean cuisine is quite filling, but will leave you ready to finish out your day strong.
