Redbubble opts for coworking to grow at ease while expanding their team based in Berlin

Redbubble, a global online marketplace for Independent artists founded in Australia, joined Mindspace in Berlin in November 2018 as part of their continued business expansion in Europe. After experiencing rapid growth, they recognized that they needed a bigger space for their growing team. They selected coworking for the ability to grow at ease without having to deal with the hassle of the overhead and administrative tasks associated with opening a new company branch in Germany. They are currently enjoying their own private office suite at Mindspace, with over 30 workstations in one shared space dedicated solely to their team.

We spoke with Sandra Yonter, SVP Europe, New Markets and Artist Community at Redbubble, to learn more about their story.

What were some of your needs for your office in Berlin? What drew you to coworking?

There is a lot of potential for growth within the European markets that we are focused on. Redbubble Europe is a new adventure that requires to be flexible with the resources that we will need to support ongoing growth. So a coworking space is the most appropriate working environment that allows paying only for the space we need and expand it depending on our growing needs.

Where was your Berlin office before you joined Mindspace? What were some of the changes that caused you to move?

Before Mindspace, we were at a different coworking space in Hackescher Markt and we kept on adding more separate office space as our team expanded. When we built a full Customer Service team in November 2018, it became truly important to get a more suitable open office space that would allow cross-collaboration, would offer conference rooms, phone booths, and a lunch area, all of these not being available in our previous location.

How did you find Mindspace?

We looked at all the coworking spaces in Berlin that were in the area we were interested in for easy commute for employees and visited every single one of them!

What criteria did you have in mind for the coworking office you were looking for?

We had many criteria in mind when looking for our next office space. We wanted a centrally located coworking space for an easy commute, an open space for the entire team, with a great atmosphere, a cool vibe, one that paid attention to the design of the space and provided us with exciting offerings for our staff. A caring approach was essential, we were definitely looking for human touch!

Why did you choose Mindspace?

The warm, welcoming feeling from the Mindspace staff, the beautiful building, and the excellent location with an easy commute.

What’s the biggest benefit you’ve gained from working at Mindspace?

We have a perfect space for our employees and to welcome potential hires and partners — our Mindspace office serves as a great storefront for us.

What are some other benefits you’ve experienced with Mindspace?

The Mindspace team is there for their customers — they are available, they listen, care for their customers and will try to find solutions to any potential problem that might arise. I love the platform and the app, it helps us connect with the community. Learning and wellness events are also huge benefits, whether it is for personal or professional development.
