Hungry? Looking for something to eat during lunchtime? Our hard-working team at Mindspace Berlin curated the best places for a delicious lunch. Guten Appetit!

We all know Kreuzberg and Prenzlauer Berg have amazing restaurants on almost every corner, but you’ll be surprised at the great lunch-places Friedrichstraße has to offer. The Mindspace Berlin team has been working in the new lobby in Berlin-Mitte for a few months and has curated the best lunch places in the area just for you.

Check out these places and visit our Facebook page to share more ideas.

1. Cadadia

Cadadia has some of the best soups around and is especially great to go to in the winter. They have a new menu every week and they serve everything — from hearty German lentil soup to Indian Curry. There’s a dish for every taste. If you don’t feel like soup, check out their quiches and salads. And don’t forget to bring your stamp card so you can collect a free lunch.

2. Avan

Avan is one of the hippest places to eat in Mitte. It was located above a clothing store, but it became so popular that they moved to a new location in Mauerstraße. Avan serves different Asian specialties from Vietnamese cuisine. We highly recommend ordering the Bento Box with a choice of three different dishes, along with an amazingly tasty fresh juice

3. La Via del Muro

Just next to Avan you’ll find La Via del Muro, a really nice Italian place. They have a business lunch menu in which you can order all the main dishes for only 6,90 € and huge pizzas. It will definitely put you into a food coma after lunch and make the following hour at work a bit difficult.

Mauerstraße 81–82 | 10117 Berlin

4. Otito

Another Asian place and one of our favorite restaurants in the area. It’s located almost right by the corner of Friedrichstraße and Leipziger Straße but it’s a bit difficult to spot from the street. Otito is very affordable and has a great mix of Sushi and other typical Asian dishes. We highly recommend ordering the yellow curry with sweet potatoes (dish 130). Yummy!

5. Maximilians

Maximilian is a mainstream Bavarian place. We recommend going there on Thursday. Why Thursday? Because that’s when it’s Schnitzel Day! Schnitzel Day is your chance to have authentic German food and a little Bavarian vibe in Berlin.

Maximilians | Friedrichstraße 185–190 | 10117 Berlin

6. Little Green Rabbit

If you’re into having a healthy lunch, check out Little Green Rabbit close to Gendarmenmarkt. They serve delicious salads and soups so it’s great for winter and summer. In the summer, you can get one of their fresh salads and enjoy it outside on the steps of Gendarmenmarkt — that way you can catch a tan during lunch break.

7. Hans im Glück

One of the busiest places for lunch around Friedrichstraße. It’s a very stylish Burger Place with lots of birch trees inside and a really cool bar in the middle. We recommend getting the burger menu with fries, a soft drink, and a salad. They also serve a very good ice tea which actually tastes like tea and not pure sugar. The place is often so full that it might actually be a good idea to make a reservation.

8. Coffee At Mindspace

When in need of inspiration after lunch, stop by for a coffee in our lobby at Mohrenstraße 50 to have a chat with one of our Community Managers!
